Greg Korte
Principal & Founder
As the founder and principal of Korte & Associates Consulting LLC, Greg Korte brings his 27 years of operational experience to his financial services consulting firm. The firm is positioned to bring high quality consulting services to the large market investment and pension plan industry.
During his 27 years in the investment service industry he has grown his specialty areas of expertise to include custody, accounting, securities lending, performance analysis, board reporting and audit preparation. Greg has been awarded projects for various plans covering defined benefit, defined contribution, corporate plans, public plans as well as foundation clients. These projects range in size from several billion to over 65 billion in assets under management.
Previously, Greg worked at Russell Investments, a global leader in consulting and large market financial services, in the operations department in 2000 as Manager of Fund Administration. Greg has held various management positions with Russell Investments. Most recently, Greg was named to lead the Operational Consulting practice for the firm. As a senior consultant, he worked directly with clients and leading industry providers to ensure the highest quality of service and fee agreements were obtained.
Prior positions include Managing the Technology Products & Services group that was responsible for working with the leading custodian banks and related vendors that provide investment and operations services to Russell. The investment products covered include mutual funds, ERISA funds, endowments, foundations, institutional defined benefit and defined contribution accounts holding assets over $65 billion dollars.
Before joining Russell, Greg worked as an assistant treasurer at Key Bank, working primarily on the investment funds in vendor service management and treasury services. Responsibilities included financial statements, vendor management, and performance reporting.
Jeff kearny
Managing Director
Jeff Kearny is a Managing Director and Consultant for the firm. Jeff’s responsibilities include managing client consulting engagements, conducting service provider due diligence and industry research, and supporting the strategic development of the business. Jeff has extensive investment consulting and investment operations consulting experience and works with Korte Consulting clients on a wide range of issues, including master trust/custody, securities lending, fee benchmarking, contract review and negotiation, fund accounting and unitization, defined contribution plan design, investment manager operational due diligence reviews, and a wide range of RFI/RFP projects.
Prior to joining Korte Consulting, Jeff was a Principal and Senior Consultant at Mercer Investment Consulting, where he was a founding member of Mercer’s dedicated investment operations consulting unit, Mercer Sentinel Group. Prior to the launch of Mercer Sentinel Group in 1999, Jeff worked in Mercer’s investment manager research and performance and analytics groups.
Jeff holds an MBA in Finance with distinction from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Indiana University. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and a contributor to industry publications pertaining to investment operations and securities lending.
